If you're reading this, there's a good chance you already know us. You've shared a meal with us, or followed along quietly from a distance, or maybe you've just been curious about what we've been up to.
So here it is.
KAZAE is our family's creative studio. At our core, we are creatives. Khoa and I are trained architects and that's actually how we found each other, bent over drawings, arguing about space and light, and what it means to build something that touches the soul. We've never really stopped thinking that way. We just stopped applying it only to buildings.
What KAZAE is making now: Khoa has just published Enoughness: Thriving in a World that Profits from Your Doubts, a book that pulls back the curtain on the systems that profit from keeping you dissatisfied, and asks what it would look like to step out of that cycle. Adelyn is deep in review mode with Made With Intention, a quiet business guide for makers who love what they make. More will follow.
Why now? Honestly, legacy. That word sounds grand, but we mean it plainly. We want to leave something behind that has our name on it. A creative endeavour of our own. Something our children might one day reach for. Something that says: this is what we thought about, what we cared about, what we made.
Kindling is where that work lives. The website’s tagline is sparking creativity and intentional living, which sounds like a tagline until you realise it's also just a description of our dinner table conversations for over 25 years.
We're glad you're here. Stick around — there's a lot we want to share.
— Khoa & Adelyn
